horntools presents the ExRoof roof rack for the Jimny and a short awning for pick-ups

At this year’s Abenteuer Allrad, the company horntools GmbH from Dornbirn in Austria again showed new products around accessories for all-wheel-drive vehicles. We present the new horntools products.

horntools has had a firm place among the makers of off-road equipment and accessories for many years. The company specialises in winches, pick-up and off-road accessories, equipment for winter road service, roof tents and camping gear.

ExRoof roof rack

One of the new products from horntools is the ExRoof roof rack, which the company presented in Bad Kissingen on the Suzuki Jimny GJ. The roof rack for the Jimny is made of powder-coated aluminium and weighs 21.5 kilograms. The platform size is 1698 mm x 1350 mm x 49 mm. There is also an optional side rail. Especially handy: you can attach add-on parts and accessories to the profile rails using slot nuts. DIYers can really express themselves here too.

horntools states the load capacity as 300 kilograms static and 100 kilograms dynamic (observe the technical data of the respective vehicle and the vehicle manufacturer’s approval!). Included are the base rack, roof-rack feet, the fastening material needed and fitting instructions.

Currently, besides the Suzuki Jimny GJ, the rack is also available for the Isuzu D-Max 2021 DoubleCab as well as various panel vans and transporters. More vehicles are to follow.

Quick releases for mounting roof tents

As new roof-rack accessories, horntools presented quick releases for mounting roof tents. The releases are easy to handle and come optionally with a theft lock. With them you can put the roof tent on and take it off more easily when it isn’t to be mounted permanently on the roof rack.

Handy quick release for quick fitting and removal of the roof tent.

Short awning for the horntools roof tents

Awnings for roof tents are handy in everyday travel. Whether as extra living space in wet weather or as a changing room. horntools has had such awnings for its roof tents in its range for a while. They are connected to the roof tent by a zip. The awning has mosquito nets and the floor is waterproof. On horntools’ Desert roof tents, the awning is already included as standard.

The horntools awnings are now also available in a short version.

Another new product the maker presented at the fair is a short awning. It is intended for vehicles with a low roof height. So for smaller off-roaders and SUVs as well as mini-campers the size of a VW Caddy. The short awning is only 1.70 metres high and, for very low vehicles, can be gathered a further 15 centimetres shorter inside using straps.
