When Andreas Christl watched those bright blue Grenadiers rolling off the line at the Hambach plant, a special paint job for a French energy company, he knew straight away: I want one of those. Can’t be done, came the answer. But anyone who knows Andreas Christl knows there’s exactly one thing that doesn’t exist for him, and that’s “can’t be done”.
At Abenteuer & Allrad 2026 he proved it, because there it stood: a bright blue Grenadier as the Rallye Works Limited Edition. An INEOS Grenadier you won’t find twice, because ABNTR4X4 is building just ten of them for customers, each with its own number from 01/10 to 10/10, plus a certificate of authenticity and a badge under the windscreen. They’re all finished in the original Summit Blue, the very shade that grabbed him back in Hambach. And with the red rally details and the Union Jack livery, you’ll spot one of these from a long way off.
Skid plates that weigh next to nothing
Underneath, the Grenadier sits in a new SGS4x4 skid plate set made from black anodised aluminium. It protects the engine, gearbox, both differentials, fuel tank and rear end, and it still stays light and strong. The whole lot weighs about the same as just the front and rear plates on the standard car, which is quite something. On top of that come ABNTR4X4 rock sliders, which take the hits to the sills and sides when things get tight off-road.
A winch cover and ladder for the expedition look
Up front sits a folding winch cover from LETECH, complete with TÜV approval, and round the back there’s a ladder with a jerry can holder. These are the bits that give a vehicle that expedition character without it ever looking daft.
Now the suspension gets serious
The Grenadier sits around four centimetres higher and runs Koni Heavy Track Raid dampers with matching springs. ABNTR4X4 tuned the whole setup together with Taubenreuther, a partner on the project. There are also two seven-inch LAZER Elite spotlights in the grille, so you can actually see where you’re going at night.
Air at the push of a button
Under the passenger seat sits a brushless ARB compressor, along with a pump-up kit with a flexible hose and a digital tyre inflator. The axle breathers run straight up into the engine bay.
Tech within reach in the cockpit
In the cockpit there’s a device mount with a cross brace on the centre of the dash and five threaded points for RAM Mount systems. That’s where you clamp your phone, tablet, sat-nav, rally gear or radio, all within easy reach, and nothing goes flying about.

A recovery kit that’s no toy
There’s also a full recovery kit from Seilflechter on board, and the figures speak for themselves. You get a 24-metre winch rope rated at around 9,900 daN, four red soft shackles good for 12 tonnes each, a two-metre tree protector strap at 10.5 tonnes and a snatch ring that takes 20 tonnes. On top of that there’s an eight-metre kinetic rope in blue and red to match the Grenadier’s colours, plus recovery gloves and a carry bag.
Wheels and rally look of the Rallye Works Limited Edition Grenadier
OZ Racing supplies the 17-inch Rally Raid wheels, and every one carries the “ABNTR4X4 LTD.” lettering. That’s a genuinely special touch, because OZ only lets a handful of companies put their name on a wheel. There’s also a wheel and tyre combination made specially for ABNTR4X4 in ET44, with BFGoodrich All-Terrains in 285/70 R17. Then come red FIA-compliant rally mudflaps and a red 20-litre steel jerry can for diesel, and up on the roof sit black anodised ABNTR4X4 roof rails. Together with the Summit Blue and the numbered livery with race number, you can tell at a glance that each car belongs to the One of Ten edition.
Storage without the clutter
At the back, a Front Runner storage system with four Wolf Pack Pro boxes keeps everything in order. You stow your tools and kit in there, along with travel gear and off-road bits, without it all sliding around behind you. The clever part: it gives you real storage space without making the car feel stuffed.
What does it all cost?
The Rallye Works Limited Edition Grenadier is set to cost 98,800 euros, quoted as a show price. That’s a fair chunk, but for what’s packed into it, I reckon it’s surprisingly fair. Anyone retrofitting all of this on their own, the Summit Blue special edition, the OZ wheels, the Koni Raid suspension, the ARB compressor, the SGS skid plates, the Seilflechter recovery kit and the Front Runner build, would soon land well above that premium over a standard Grenadier, development work included. The Edition can be found at ABNTR4x4 Automotive.
