Nolden has followed up and brought the fourth generation of LED headlights to market for the 90 mm headlight class. These AVEGO Edge are now also available for the Mercedes-Benz Vario and other vehicle types through Scheinwerfer LUXX.
As the designated aftermarket partner of Nolden Cars&Concepts, a German manufacturer of LED vehicle lighting, Scheinwerfer LUXX relies on the well-known Nolden quality. Multiply protected housings, exceptional quality in the polycarbonate lens and a UV protective coating that lasts for decades speak for themselves. Even the first LED lights from Nolden, which have now been on the market for over 15 years, have absolutely flawless lenses, white and clear as on day one.
The LED retrofit kit for the Mercedes-Benz Vario
The old halogen technology is always an annoyance, especially on larger vehicles, where the headlights also sit higher than on cars. With the new, stronger Nolden AVEGO Edge headlights, Scheinwerfer LUXX fixes exactly this weakness. On top of that, the durable and robust LED headlights massively increase reliability. For this reason, numerous customers, such as the transport authorities of large cities, even rely on the conversion to Nolden LED technology on older trams, in order to reduce faults from defective lighting systems to zero.

That’s one of the big advantages of good LED light quality, because you don’t want your lighting to fail somewhere in the middle of nowhere. That’s why Scheinwerfer LUXX particularly addresses the users of emergency vehicles and off-road travellers. Because on duty or out on the tracks, the light has to be good and reliable. Easy fitting
The LED retrofit kits from Scheinwerfer LUXX are designed to be easy to fit. The first prototypes are always fitted in-house, to spot problems and feed improvements directly back into development. Wherever possible, the fitting is reduced to attaching the lights to the carrier, fitting the carrier and plugging in the cable connections. Usually only the connection of the daytime running light to a terminal 30 is left to the customer, and even here a suggestion is made. Best connected via a fuse tap, which is now also supplied with it when ATO or mini-ATO fuses are involved.
The retrofit kit for the Mercedes-Benz Vario is one of the more elaborate ones, but not for the customer. Each bracket of the LED carrier is on a different level, with numerous bends and welding points.
Waterproof headlight levelling optionally available
As always, headlight levelling with IP6K9K-protected actuators is prepared right away too. In principle it’s compulsory for all vehicles first registered from 1 January 1990. There can be exceptions, for example if the headlight levelling has been removed from the registration. You’ll get more information in this video: headlight levelling.
What’s included in the LED retrofit kit?
With the retrofit kit you get everything you need in terms of material. Four headlights, the mounting bolts, the brackets with trims, screws and all the cables. If the headlight levelling is included, the actuators, their brackets, cables, 24/12 volt converter and the four-way rotary switch.
Older motorhomes with modern, better LED low and high beam
The well-known retrofit kits from Scheinwerfer LUXX were previously fitted with the Nolden AVEGO headlights of the 3rd generation LED technology. Since the start of 2026 there’s now the new generation AVEGO Edge. They impress with a new, clear design and improved light quality.
Basically all available retrofit kits, not just the one for the Mercedes-Benz Vario, are now available with the Nolden AVEGO Edge: Unimog, IVECO 90-16, MAN L2000/F2000, Mercedes-Benz SK and MK (1017, 1117, 1022, 914, 917 and similar).
