Flat Water Cans and Fuel Cans from Nakatanenga

Advertisement: A lot used to seem simpler. A Defender or bush taxi, two holders on the outside, two 20-litre army jerrycans in and off you went on the big trip. Today many of you drive all kinds of different vehicles and the demands on gear, space and handling have changed. That’s why flat water cans and fuel cans are turning up more and more often, above all on pick-ups, but also on vehicles that have to watch the weight, like the Ineos Grenadier. Flat cans are easier to carry, more flexible to fix and more versatile to use. Nakatanenga now offers matching flat cans for water or fuel in two sizes.

Why flat water cans have advantages

When you’re out in your off-roader, every centimetre in the load space counts. Water often takes up more room than necessary. That’s why many of you reach for the classic 20-litre army cans. They’re sturdy and proven for decades. But a full can weighs over twenty kilos, and you need a fair bit of strength for the walk to the water source. Two or three of them side by side on the vehicle’s flank quickly add forty to sixty kilos of extra weight too. Flat cans bring less volume and are therefore lighter. They also don’t build out so far to the sides, which is especially interesting when your vehicle shouldn’t get too wide at the sides and every kilo matters.

Flat water cans for more flexibility

With the Adventure flat water cans, Nakatanenga has two variants in the range. The cans are made of rugged plastic, are BPA-free and suitable for drinking water. You get them in 5 and 10 litres. Thanks to the flat shape they seem more compact in the vehicle and can be stowed in different positions on the outside. Even in narrow gaps in the rear you’ll often still find room for them.

Stackable, secure and easy to fix

The flat water cans from Nakatanenga have shapes on the sides that fit into each other like Lego. You stack two ten-litre cans on top of each other or combine the two sizes. That reduces slipping and makes fixing easier. It’s especially interesting for pick-ups, because thanks to the flat shape the cans can be fixed easily to a hardtop or to truck-bed racks. Both cans are available in a version with a draining tap, so you don’t even have to take the cans off to draw water.

Easy handling thanks to four handles

Each of the cans has handles on all four sides. That makes transport considerably easier. On uneven ground or longer walks to refill in particular, that’s a huge advantage. Thanks to the central recess, one hole in the 5-litre can and two holes in the 10-litre can, the flat water cans can also be bolted directly to panels, hardtops or mounts.

Flat fuel can, perfect for pick-ups

Besides the water cans, Nakatanenga also offers matching flat fuel cans in two sizes. Here too the cans come in 5 or 10 litres and are likewise stackable. Instead of a second opening for draining, the fuel cans come with a flexible screw-on pouring spout.
