BushCamper Owners Week 2026: Four Days of Travel Know-how in Wiesentheid

From 23 to 26 July 2026, off-road travellers are meeting in Wiesentheid in Bavaria, because there the BushCamper Owners Week is running for the second time, deliberately staying small and cosy, because here it’s above all the people who like being on the road and want to learn from each other who are meant to come together.

You can take the name nice and easy, though, because you don’t need your own BushCamper, and anyone who doesn’t have one simply books the hotel right next door or sleeps in their own camper on the grounds.

Thursday: arriving and getting to know each other

It all kicks off on Thursday from 4 p.m. in a very relaxed way, because before the programme really starts, you first arrive and get to know each other, and so there’s food from the grill, vegetarian of course too, before the evening ends at the big campfire.

Friday: spanner workshop and first aid on the road

On Friday two workshops run in parallel. One in which you learn how to repair small breakdowns yourself on the road and get your vehicle to the next workshop, and in the other, the Bush Medi-Care, the team shows you how to stay calm and act correctly in a medical emergency far away from any clinic. In the evening there’s then a talk about the Pamir Highway.

Saturday: travel on the screen and in the terrain

On Saturday there are several talks right across the globe: one goes to South America, along the Panamericana, from the Andes over the Atacama Desert to the rainforest on the Amazon, another stays closer to home and sets course for Iceland and Scandinavia, where it gets really rough, and a third leads to the Orient to Saudi Arabia, from the huge sand desert Rub al Khali over the rocks of Al Ula to cities like Riyadh.

Alongside that there are plenty of practical workshops: on the topic of recovery you learn how to free your vehicle again with a winch or sand ladders, and emergency preparedness is about digital helpers for the worst case, for example when the phone is stolen or the papers are missing, while a further talk shows how to prepare and document a trip, from the route to visas and carnet de passages through to the travel diary or blog.

Anyone who prefers to drive themselves heads out onto the trial course, where you have to, for example, hit a target precisely or let a marshal guide you blindfolded, and because a day like that makes you hungry, there’s food from the field kitchen and a wine tasting to go with it, before in the evening the group crowns the best photos and everyone sits around the fire again. And for all the curious, there’s a room tour in the BushCamper workshop on Saturday.

Sunday: breakfast and departure

On Sunday, after breakfast at the BushCamper Owners Week, there’s still a little time left, because before everyone packs up and leaves, to swap stories together about the BushCamper community.

Registration and who the whole thing is for

You only have to register, by the way, for the spanner course and for the trial driving as well as for the Medi-Care talk, because for all the other workshops and talks you simply join in.

The Owners Week is for everyone who likes to travel and would rather lend a hand themselves than have everything taken care of for them, and anyone who’s getting the urge now is best off looking straight at the programme on the website.
