CALOR, the in-house brand of G:part, is expanding its range of parking heaters: alongside the CA2 and CA4 air heaters, the CL5 is the brand’s first coolant heater. It warms the engine coolant, suits cars, campervans and motorhomes with a 12-volt electrical system and can be operated by app or controller.
With the CALOR CL5, a diesel coolant heater with 5 kW of heat output for 12-volt electrical systems is now available. It comes as a complete set including installation kit and controller, ready to fit. According to G:part it suits cars, campervans and motorhomes. For good heat transfer the supplier specifies a minimum coolant flow of 250 litres per hour, which common vehicles usually provide.
Warm coolant instead of warm air
Unlike the CALOR CA2 and CA4 air heaters, which blow warm air straight into the interior, the CL5 heats the vehicle’s coolant. That makes it appealing above all for anyone who wants to avoid cold engine starts and pre-warm the cabin before setting off. The pre-heating is gentle on the engine, and scraping ice off frozen windows becomes a thing of the past. As an addition to the two air heaters, it combines well with them.
Operated by app or controller
The CL5 is controlled either via the supplied controller or by smartphone. The controller works over Bluetooth, and all functions such as the timer can be set in the Smart Life app.
