Advertisement: If you are out and about a lot and love your freedom, you know the problem: a motorhome costs a fortune, takes up space and is out of place off-road. A fixed conversion ties up your off-roader, especially if you need it every day. At the same time you want to be able to set off any time, as soon as the weather is good or the next trip calls. This is exactly where the QUQUQ box scores. Made in North Rhine-Westphalia, it turns the Toyota Land Cruiser 250 or 150, and many other vehicles, into a full mini-camper in minutes. Kitchen, bed and storage in one box, sturdy, well thought out and along for the ride everywhere.
QUQUQ was one of the first systems of its kind and made the camping-box principle respectable, you might say. No separate parts, no fiddly DIY, no half-measures. Box in, straps tight and away you go. The QUQUQ camping boxes now come in 9 versions for the most varied vehicles, from high-roof estates like the Ford Tourneo Connect and Courier, the Renault Kangoo, the VW Caddy and many more, through the larger van boxes for the Ford Transit, Peugeot Boxer, VW T4 to T6 and Sprinter, but also for classic off-roaders like the Land Rover Defender, the Mercedes G or the Ineos Grenadier. New this year is the QUQUQ camping box for the new Toyota Land Cruiser.

The FlatBox for the Toyota Land Cruiser 250
The name gives it away. At just 32 centimetres tall, the FlatBox is extremely low. That makes it ideal for vehicles with limited interior height, like the Toyota Land Cruiser 150 or 250. Even though it is so flat, the full function is retained.
With the QUQUQ camping box, your everyday car becomes a full travel vehicle in a few minutes. There are no loose components, nothing that can fly around or be forgotten. The complete box is one connected system. Kitchen open. Fold out the bed. Done.
The QUQUQ box is secured in the vehicle with ratchet straps, each rated to hold 500 kg. The folding segments hang from the seat-belt mounts.
What sets the QUQUQ camping boxes apart
QUQUQ has perfected the principle over the years. The boxes offer:
- A complete module with no loose parts
- Fitting in around a minute
- Kitchen and bed ready in seconds
- A three-part cold-foam mattress, ten centimetres thick
- A two-burner stove with integrated gas cartridges
- A solid windshield for the stove
- A large worktop, or small table
- Use with or without the rear seat bench
That makes the box suitable for weekends in the woods as well as longer trips over tracks and gravel. Everything is built so that you do not have to improvise on the road.
Kitchen on rails
The cooking drawer runs on telescopic rails rated to 45 kg. The aluminium windshield locks cleanly with a gas strut, and the two-burner stove runs on gas cartridges. By the way, you can also take the stove out if you need more space and would rather cook on the camping table. Two stainless-steel bowls are on board, as well as two ten-litre cans with a drain tap, which you can also take out to fill.

Bed and mattress
The sleeping area of the FlatBox measures 110 x 195 cm. It is carried by a fold-out panel that hangs from the seat-belt mounts or door handles via strap loops. The length can be adjusted without tools. The mattress is in three parts and made from quality cold foam.

Dimensions of the QUQUQ FlatBox:
- Sleeping area 110 x 195 cm
- Footprint 102 x 32 x 76 cm (W x H x D)
- Weight about 50 kg plus equipment
Which vehicles are the QUQUQ camping boxes available for
Besides the Land Cruiser 250 and 150, the QUQUQ FlatBox also fits models like the Discovery 3 and 4 or older vans like the first-generation Seat Alhambra without the rear seat bench. By the way, you will find the complete list of all the vehicles one of the QUQUQ boxes fits on the website. It now runs to 8 pages, and the question is no longer: will the box fit my car? It is more: which car does it actually not fit?
The GrenBox: QUQUQ camping box for the Ineos Grenadier
With the GrenBox, developed specifically for the Ineos Grenadier, you can turn the Ineos Grenadier into a camper in a flash, and here too, without the vehicle losing its everyday usability.

QUQUQ: a pioneering principle that has proven itself
Behind QUQUQ is not a huge industrial group, but a small team that has been building camping boxes for many years. The idea grew out of their own need for a simple, quick solution for spontaneous trips. What began as a compact prototype has, over the last 14 years, become a system that is used worldwide today.
What off-road drivers value most about it is the toughness, the quick deployment and the chance to keep an expensive vehicle flexible without a fixed conversion. That is exactly what sets QUQUQ apart from many classic camping conversions.
