Scheinwerfer LUXX now offers LED retrofit kits for the main headlights of the Mercedes-Benz Vario. The old halogen lights are replaced by the Nolden Cars&Concepts NCC AVEGO or the new AVEGO Edge LED headlights.
Halogen lighting is an old technology that reached its limits long ago. Nevertheless it’s still fitted in new vehicles, as it’s cheap and trouble-free. Modern vehicles with smart alternators, PWM electrical systems and other gimmicks make life difficult for LED lights. Mostly, additional technology has to be used. This is invisible to the vehicle owner, but often present.
Anyone who still owns a comparatively simple vehicle like the Mercedes-Benz Vario can count themselves lucky. There, the halogen main headlights can be converted to LED headlights with a little effort. At Scheinwerfer LUXX there are now retrofit kits like this.
High-quality LED main headlights
Scheinwerfer LUXX relies on high quality in lighting. That’s why all retrofit kits, including those for trucks like the Unimog, Mercedes-Benz medium and heavy class, IVECO or MAN, are based on Nolden headlights. The lenses are made of high-quality, protected polycarbonate that stays clear for decades, double housing protection against salt and other influences, IP6K9K protection class and technology designed for durability.
AVEGO or AVEGO EDGE
Whether you like the design of the third generation LED technology in the AVEGO headlights or the fourth generation in the AVEGO EDGE headlights, in either case you get excellent low and high beam. With the fourth generation even a bit better, because the low beam is 4% stronger, more homogeneous and wider. The high beam has 22% more light output.
The two generations also differ visually. While the third generation AVEGO has a narrow, surrounding light guide, optionally blanked off at the top, the AVEGO EDGE have broad, striking light guide bars, at the top and bottom respectively. On top of that there are matching rear lights for the AVEGO EDGE in the same design.

The Scheinwerfer LUXX retrofit kit for the Mercedes-Benz Vario
With the retrofit kit for your Mercedes-Benz Vario you get, besides the four LED headlights, matching brackets that are fitted in place of the original main headlights. The LED headlights are attached in these brackets. With the supplied cable set you connect the headlights to the vehicle and to the load simulation modules, which are also included. These simulate the power draw of the halogen lights to the vehicle. The excess power, however, is not simply turned into heat, but fed back to the battery.
With the low beam you get a daytime running light and a position light. As an AVEGO EDGE, the high beam has two functions, position light and of course high beam, in the AVEGO version high beam only.
Headlight levelling
Anyone whose vehicle needs headlight levelling gets that at Scheinwerfer LUXX too. It’s designed for 24 volts and the actuators, like the headlights, have the IP6K9K protection class.
