Oryx Solutions - VW Crafter und MAN TGE modulares Mobelsystem

Modular Interior for the MAN TGE and VW Crafter from ORYX Solutions

ORYX Solutions is bringing a new modular interior to market for the VW Crafter (2nd series, L3) and the identical MAN TGE (L3). Both panel vans share the platform, which is why the furniture modules fit both vehicles equally. A large part of the modules has been specially adapted to the interior dimensions of the L3 variant.

Modular build instead of a fixed complete solution

The basic idea behind the system is simple: instead of a permanently installed complete build, you put together exactly what you need from precisely fitting individual modules. The modules are CNC-produced, pre-assembled and fitted in a few steps. ORYX consistently focuses on weight optimisation and on being fit for both everyday use and the track, something that with many classic Crafter or TGE builds otherwise tends to fall by the wayside in favour of other factors.

A complete build of a bed system, kitchen unit, wet cell, three wall cabinets and a seat box with table comes to a total weight of around 180 kilos. For a fully fledged camper with everything you need, that’s reasonable.

The centrepiece is the bed system for the VW Crafter and MAN TGE L3, a track-proof yet light piece of furniture with a white silk-matt surface that offers generous storage space under the sleeping area. On top of that comes the kitchen unit, into which you can integrate a stove and fridge.

Anyone who needs more storage for clothes goes for the wardrobe, alternatively there’s a wet cell in the same position, which depending on the version can be used as a space for wet clothing, as a toilet cubicle or as a complete shower room. For more order on the side walls there are the wall cabinets. The 50 cm wide cabinet comes as a single module, so you can set several next to each other depending on the wall length. Anyone filling a longer wall area is better off with the 150 cm triple module, which combines three compartments side by side.

For seating there’s the seat box in 50 cm or 78 cm width, with the matching seat cushion in removable, washable linen fabric. The table slides sideways and can therefore be positioned flexibly, depending on whether you want to read, work or eat.

Practical additions are the cab shelf on the headliner for everything that should be quickly to hand while driving, plus the trim panels with storage: a storage compartment for the right sliding door and storage compartments for both rear doors. The floor is formed by the multi-part floor panel in waterproof-bonded plywood, which you can finish off with your own floor covering as you like.
