The target group for this hardshell roof tent is off-road campers looking for a tent that sets up quickly and yet offers plenty of functions.
The OZTENT hardshell roof tent Apex RT-C-1400 impresses with many details
Looking into the new OZTENT hardshell roof tent, a few detail solutions catch the eye immediately. Besides the LED strips with a dimming function and switchable light colours, the tent has two reading lights and two fans that can be switched in three stages for optimal ventilation.
The lighting for inside and out is controlled via the Apex Command Centre, a control panel inside the roof tent. This additionally has USB-C ports for charging lamps, tablets, the smartphone and the like while on the road. The delivery also includes a remote control with which the tent’s electrical functions can be controlled. On the ceiling there’s also a double socket with 1x USB-A and 1x USB-C ports. For the power supply a power bank can be connected directly to the panel, and on the outside there’s a feed-in socket to connect the power supply via the vehicle, for example. A three-metre cable with an Anderson plug is included, which again underlines the high standard of equipment.
Good ventilation options and plenty of storage
The tent is easy to ventilate thanks to the large side and rear windows and offers a good all-round view. An additional PVC roof window provides even more daylight and a view of the starry sky. A small window at the foot end offers another ventilation option and even more visibility.
In addition to the windows and doors on the sides, there are also front side windows on the left and right, so all in all ideal ventilation options for hot travel regions. Storage with a tablet holder, drinks holder, mesh pockets and a shelf compartment is plentiful too.
A 70 mm thick foam mattress with a removable cover provides sleeping comfort. A mesh underlay is included. The roof tent, whose construction consists of an upper shell of honeycomb aluminium, an underbody of glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide and a powder-coated aluminium frame, can also be set up and closed again quickly thanks to the gas-assisted struts. The tent fabric is made of the proven cotton-blend material that has been used for many years in the classic OZTENT RV tents.
On the outside, further functions catch the eye, such as integrated rubber straps for securing rolled-up side panels and LED strips on the right, left and rear, which can be controlled via a motion switch, among other things.
