New Free-Standing Awnings from Rhino Rack at Taubenreuther

Free-standing awnings have been around for quite a while – but now Rhino Rack are finally getting on board too and bringing the quality we’ve been waiting for. As always, the Australian manufacturer impresses with well-thought-out design, robust build quality and clever details. We ourselves have had the Batwing mounted on our Defender for years – and are still thoroughly happy with it to this day. Rhino Rack Batwing 270 free-standing awning

The new Rhino Rack Batwing 270 free-standing awning, right side, incl. bracket measures 2200 mm when closed and unfolds to an impressive 5900 mm – entirely without additional supports. It offers up to 2000 mm of reach from the vehicle edge and covers a proud 12.3 m². The 280gsm ripstop polycotton fabric is UV-resistant (50+) and waterproof (2000 mm), the bag weatherproof and tear-resistant. The scope of delivery includes brackets, pegs, guy ropes and optionally usable telescopic poles. Anyone who prefers to shade the other side of their vehicle reaches for the Batwing 270 for the left side. You’ll find the YouTube video on the awning here.

Rhino Rack Batwing 180 free-standing awning, incl. bracket

A little more compact, but just as well thought out: the Rhino Rack Batwing 180 free-standing awning, incl. bracket likewise comes in at 2200 mm when closed and unfolds to over 6000 mm. The free-standing construction covers 8.4 m² of area. Here too the rule is: durable, UV-protected polycotton fabric, well-thought-out details and everything you need for mounting. Ideal for everyone who needs a bit less area or wants to stay more flexible on one side.

Rhino Rack Sunseeker awning, free-standing 2200 mm x 2000 mm, incl. bracket

The Sunseeker awning is the classic in compact format – 2 m of reach with 4 m² of coverage. It’s light, quickly set up and yet still offers reliable protection with UV 50+ and a 2000 mm water column. At 15.5 kg it’s also easy to handle solo. Ideal for short stops, the city park or the weekend by the river.

Rhino Rack shower tent, free-standing, incl. bracket

Privacy to go: the Rhino Rack shower tent, free-standing, incl. bracket brings maximum comfort in the smallest space. At only 1.1 m in length when closed and one metre in depth when unfolded, it fits even smaller vehicles. The silver-laminated polyester fabric provides reliable screening, while clever details such as integrated storage compartments and a practical towel holder – a small flap that you simply fold over the towel so it stays dry – provide order and comfort. In addition, the tent has an opening on the front side, through which you can access your vehicle directly – ideal when the shower connection is mounted on the outside or you want to reach something out of the vehicle while showering.

A weatherproof bag, pegs and brackets are included – and at only 6.8 kg it stays pleasantly light. The shower tent can be adjusted in height and thus adapts quite flexibly to your needs. And when it really pours, you can simply roll out the roof – ideal when you use the tent as a mobile toilet room and don’t want to stand in the rain doing so.
