With the new roof tents from Rhino-Rack, Taubenreuther adds two well-thought-out options to its range for anyone who values comfort, function and quality materials on the road. Some prefer to travel light and flexible, others go for maximum stability and storage. Both models offer what adventurers want, each with its own focus but many shared strengths.
The softshell tent is ideal for individuals or couples looking for a light, quick-to-fit tent. At a weight of just 45 kg, with a comfortable sleeping area (2050 x 1300 mm) and clever kit, including a built-in LED light, boot bags and a tool-free mounting system, it’s perfect for spontaneous road trips and summer nights under the open sky. A small awning provides ventilation in any weather, and thanks to the corrosion-protected stainless steel and the flame-retardant materials (CPAI-84) the tent stands up to changing conditions too. After the first assembly it’s ready to use, or packed away again, in just five minutes. You’ll find the tent in the Taubenreuther shop.
The hardshell tent is aimed at everyone who doesn’t want to compromise. It offers more interior space, extra carrying capacity on the outer shell (up to 20 kg) and lets you leave your bedding in the tent while driving. Here too the proven Rhino-Rack mounting system makes for lightning-fast setup and takedown. Gas struts make handling easier, and weather-protected openings allow good ventilation in all conditions. As with the softshell tent, LED lighting, boot bags, quality materials and complete mounting hardware are of course included.
Both tents were tested under demanding Australian conditions, for vibration, rain resistance, load and safety. The materials are tough, durable and flame-retardant, the accessories well thought out and the function proven on the road. Which model suits you better depends on how you travel, but you can rely on the usual Rhino-Rack quality either way. To the Rhino Rack hardshell roof tent at Taubenreuther.
