The new Ford Bronco is coming to Germany

The Ford Bronco is a real icon among off-roaders and has many fans not only in North America. In the USA the off-road veteran celebrated its comeback in 2020 in the form of a modern version. Since then there has been much speculation in the scene about whether the legendary off-roader would come to Germany too.

Now the good news for all fans: Ford has announced that the new Ford Bronco will reach the market at the end of next year in limited numbers in a few selected European countries – including Germany. The vehicle will be available only as a four-door and left-hand drive.

Tradition and off-road ability were top priorities during development

The new Ford Bronco’s genes are plainly visible, and the beefy, rugged look draws heavily on its predecessors. The heart of the new Bronco’s all-wheel-drive technology is the Bronco Terrain Management System with seven so-called G.O.A.T. drive modes. The abbreviation G.O.A.T. stands for „Goes. Over. Any. Terrain.“. These seven modes – three road and four off-road modes – change, for example, the response of the accelerator, the steering and the shift characteristics.

Naturally, like every classic off-roader, the new Ford Bronco also has a two-speed transfer case. Two versions are available: an electronically engaged variant and an automatic version. A rear diff lock is standard. A front diff lock and a disconnectable anti-roll bar are available as options. This underlines the vehicle’s off-road aspiration. A range of assistance systems is available off-road too, for example the „Trail Turn Assist“. This reduces the turning circle by braking intervention. The 17-inch or 18-inch wheels are fitted with AT tyres.

Added to this are features such as the removable four-part hardtop and the removable doors, as you know them from the Jeep Wrangler, washable materials, and numerous fastening and lashing options for accessories, camping equipment and travel gear. Ford points out, however, that driving with the doors removed is only permitted on private land and is not allowed on public roads.

For all its ruggedness, comfort is not neglected either

The interior is modern. Alongside the eight-inch TFT display in the instrument binnacle, the Bronco can offer a 12-inch touchscreen. The entire infotainment system is controlled via this. The new Ford Bronco comes with a sound system including a subwoofer from the factory. Mobile phones can be integrated. Especially handy: a mount, along with 12V and USB ports for additional devices such as cameras or mobile phones, is fitted as standard.

Ford offers an extensive range of accessories for the new Bronco

The accessory range offers numerous options for everyone who wants to equip their new Ford Bronco further. It extends from auxiliary lighting, through carriers and transport systems for sports equipment, an underbody protection package, to tent systems for campers – to name just a few.

Enthusiasm for the new Ford Bronco is high in the US off-road and off-road travel scene. We’re keen to see the promising vehicle in Europe next year and take a closer look at it. The question of which engine the new Ford Bronco will come to Europe with remains exciting.
