Have you ever wondered what you could do with the space behind your pick-up’s rear seats? No? Fair enough, there isn’t much room there. But there’s now something incredibly useful that fits perfectly: the super-flat Slimline 100 auxiliary battery from ARB, just five centimetres tall. Its shape opens up completely new mounting options, and the charging electronics you need are already built in.
ARB now offers a 100 Ah lithium iron phosphate battery that, thanks to its technology, is very safe and also extremely flat, and has the charging and connection electronics, including a solar input, already built in. That saves you hunting for the right charge controller and the usual setup. Wiring gets simpler too, since you just connect the battery. Depending on the vehicle model, there’s a matching bracket and ready-made wiring sets to go with it.
Super-flat
The flat dimensions let you install the battery in places you hadn’t even thought of before. Behind the rear seats, for example, or on the side against your pick-up’s bed walls. For various vehicle types, matching brackets and wiring sets are offered straight away. That saves you looking for a suitable mounting spot, and you can simply use the pre-made cables. If 100 Ah isn’t enough, you can connect several ARB Slimline 100 together.
Simple connection
Connecting it couldn’t be simpler, since the battery already contains everything you’d otherwise have to provide externally: charge controller, fuses, distribution and all the cables.
Technical data
The 12-volt 100 Ah battery gives you a maximum discharge current of 200 A for 20 minutes. The built-in DC-DC charger works with a four-stage charging system and is at the same time an MPPT charger for connecting solar panels. You can easily monitor the system’s state and function via a smartphone app. Six solid, secure screw terminals for ring cable lugs serve the connections for the inputs and outputs. They’re shaped to help you route the cables. A clearly visible fuse box with a transparent cover gives you quick access to the fuse. The built-in on/off switch lets you shut the whole system down safely.
The battery weighs 16 kilograms and measures L x W x H of 716 x 266 x 50 cm. Mounting kits are currently available for the following vehicles:
