Some time ago, vehicle-electrics and night-heater specialist tigerexped presented its in-house development, the TEXU400. A completely new power distributor that packs clever functions into a small space in the vehicle. But it soon became clear that the TEXU400 is more something for trucks. Now there’s a follow-up to serve the car crowd too: the TEXU200.
The new TEXU200 measures a full 10 cm less on each side, 16 x 16 cm instead of 26 x 26 cm as on the TEXU400. So now the clear, space-saving round distributor is available for car- and van-sized vehicles too. Anyone looking for the bigger brother should take a look at the TEXU400.
Lots of function and clarity in a small space
What’s new about the TEXU family is the combination of a compact design with integrated, sensible functions. The TEXU is a busbar, fuse holder and power distributor in one. A battery or battery bank, as well as four normal and four high-current loads, can be connected to the TEXU200 clearly and safely. tigerexped states that the number of crimp connections, and thus the number of possible fault sources, is reduced by 50%.
In detail, the TEXU200 is equipped as follows:
- 2x MEGA / AMG fuse max. 200A
- 3x MIDI / AMI fuse max. 180A
- 4x ATO / ATC / ATP fuse max. 25A
Safely dimensioned and simplified fault-finding with the TEXU200 power distributor
LEDs indicate the failure of a line, which considerably simplifies fault-finding. As a busbar it combines the distribution of the positive supply with the earth return, all amply dimensioned. The connections are made of rust-free M8 and M4 stainless-steel bolts.
In the motorhome and camper field, where gas systems are often found, the TEXU200 excels with ignition-protection sealing certified to ISO 8846. An extra safety plus, especially when the journey is longer and over rough tracks and the gas system can’t be adequately serviced.
