The 36-year-old engineer took over the company from his father at the start of the year. “Oh, and of course the tank also has to fit through the relevant doors or hatches in the vehicle; you should keep that in mind when planning.”
Otherwise there are no limits to the builder’s imagination. That includes the form in which you want to send DL Kunststofftechnik the information about your custom tank. You can build a model from wood, cardboard or polystyrene, or simply send a sketch. Of course, depending on the tank, baffle plates are also fitted inside the tank, and tabs for fastening can be welded directly to the tank in the right place.
Plastic tanks have the edge over stainless-steel tanks
Compared with tanks made of stainless steel or steel, the plastic tanks have the advantage of being corrosion-resistant and considerably lighter. The tanks can be made of either black or white polyethylene, with the black tanks being completely UV-resistant.
Anyone who wants to have their own tank made should also make sure to allow space for ventilation, outlet and filler when converting the off-roader.
