Jackery is expanding its LiFePO4 range and, with the Explorer 500 v2, presents a particularly light 500-watt power station. At just 5.7 kilos it’s one of the lightest devices in this segment and, thanks to its flat format and folding handle, stays easy to stow under the seat, in the boot or directly in the tent.
Released alongside it is the Jackery Solar Generator 500 v2, consisting of the power station and a 100-watt solar panel. A five-metre DC extension cable and a carry bag are included.
Fast charging of the power station in around an hour
The Explorer 500 v2 uses ChargeShield 2.0 and so charges considerably faster than earlier models. From 0 to 80 percent it takes about 52 minutes, for a full charge around 1.3 hours. The AC charging stays pleasantly quiet at up to 36 dB. A separate power supply unit isn’t needed, the power station is charged directly via cable. Charging works via mains power, solar panel or car.

The Explorer 500 v2, compact and versatile in use
512 Wh capacity, 500 watts continuous power and up to 1000 watts peak power easily cover a cool box, camera equipment, laptop, drone or small household appliances. Two AC sockets, USB-C and USB-A as well as a 12-volt car port offer all the connections you need on the road or at home.
The integrated UPS switches to backup power within around 10 milliseconds, a useful detail for a server or router at home or for sensitive electronics. The Eco mode saves energy, while continuous operation reliably supplies low-consumption devices.
Rugged LiFePO4 technology for long use
The Explorer 500 v2’s battery lasts up to 6000 charge cycles with at least 70 percent remaining capacity. The rugged housing and the operating range of −20 to 45 degrees make the power station outdoor-capable, even for winter camping or cold mountain nights. With dimensions of 31 × 20.5 × 15.6 centimetres it stays compact, and thanks to the flat format it’s easy to stow.
